  Theme: Considering Emission Neutrality in the Forestry and Land Use Sector (FoLU Net Sink)

  The issue of climate change and efforts to achieve emissions neutrality are increasingly prominent, especially in the forestry and land use (FoLU) sector. The Indonesian government, through its FoLU Net Sink 2030 agenda, aims to make this sector a net carbon sink. However, behind this optimism, there are still many critical questions about the effectiveness of the program, community involvement, and the integration of technology, policy, and ecological justice.

  The second edition of Jurnal Peradaban Hijau presents six articles that address and highlight various important dimensions of this theme. These range from an evaluation of the FoLU Net Sink program in Central Kalimantan and nationally, participatory approaches to ecosystem management, to empirical studies using econometric approaches (VECM) to understand the determinants of climate change in Indonesia. Equally interesting are studies on animal welfare in conservation areas and composting initiatives as part of emission reduction strategies in villages.
